When testing new military radar systems outdoors, the developer must be able to contain the high power radiation emanating from the system and create a shortened, reference horizon. (This is commonly known as an artificial horizon.) EeonTex™ conductive woven fabric is highly effective in this capacity because it shields radar not only by reflection but also substantially by absorption.

K-Bow Pressure Sensor

Modern musical instruction is zeroing in on ways to allow the musician to individualize their performance. EeonTex™ pressure sensitive fabric is now in use as a transponding element in bows used to play cellos, violas, and violins. Even the most subtle pressure changes in the way the musician holds the bow and applies pressure to the strings can now be translated into electrical signals that are, in turn, interpreted by a computer program.

An enterprising piano teacher devised a way to use the fabric. Her students wear specially-designed gloves, allowing her to watch their fingertip movements on the computer screen—a great way to explain the fine points of adagio versus allegretto.

Ground Penetrating Radar

EeonTex™ fabrics are ideally suited to a variety of ground penetrating radar (GPR) screens and absorbers. Salisbury screens are narrow band absorbers made of a single resistance layer, where Jaumann absorbers are broadband and made of multiple resistive layers: both are made with EeonTex™ due to the controllable range of surface resistances.

EeonTex™ netting has also been utilized to make Salisbury screens to absorb stray radiation of a certain frequency emitting from a GPR.

Heated Boots

The era of cold toes will soon be over. EeonTex™ conductive fabric is being used as a resistive heating element in shoes and boots to keep the feet warm when the mercury plunges. The heating element allows a full range of motion, allowing the wearer to hike, hunt, fish, and walk in moist, chilly conditions in comfort. The heater is sturdy and weather protected for a long and reliable life.
